TecoBell.com publishes menu, price and nutrition information that readers use to make real spending decisions. That only works if our process is transparent. This page explains exactly how we research, write, review and correct what we publish — and where our limits are.
Our Editorial Standard
Everything on this Site is written to a single standard: be accurate, be clear about uncertainty, and never pretend to know more than we do.
We would rather tell a reader that prices vary by location and should be confirmed before ordering than present a single figure as gospel. Restaurant pricing is genuinely variable, and a guide that hides that fact is not being helpful — it is being misleading.
Where Our Information Comes From
Our Source Priority
We use publicly available sources only, in the following order of priority:
- Official restaurant sources — the Taco Bell website, mobile ordering platform, and the nutrition and allergen documents the company publishes for consumers.
- Official announcements — press releases and corporate communications confirming new items, limited-time offers, discontinuations and menu changes.
- Established food and restaurant media — national outlets with a track record of accurate reporting, used to corroborate and date changes.
- Reader reports — corrections sent in by visitors, treated as research leads and verified against a public source before any page is changed.
What We Do Not Use
We do not copy content from other menu websites, and we do not reproduce copyrighted material. Menu item names and factual price figures are used descriptively, for consumer information purposes.
How We Handle Prices
Every price on this Site is labelled and treated as a reference price. Taco Bell locations are largely franchise-owned and set their own prices, so a single national figure can never be exact everywhere.
Our reference prices are intended to reflect a realistic mainstream figure — what a typical standalone restaurant charges, not an airport kiosk and not a discounted app promotion. We state clearly on our pages that the final price is whatever the restaurant charges you. We never present a price as a quote, an offer, or a guarantee.
How We Handle Nutrition and Allergen Information
Calorie and nutrition figures are taken from publicly published restaurant data and are presented as general reference information. We state on our nutrition and allergen pages that values vary with portion, preparation, customisation and supplier changes, and that cross-contact is possible in any shared kitchen.
We do not publish medical or dietary advice. Our dietary guides describe what is on a menu and how items are commonly categorised — they are not a substitute for a physician or registered dietitian, and we say so on every such page.
Our Update Cycle
Monthly Review
Menu and price pages are reviewed on a monthly cycle. When a review is completed, the update stamp on the page is changed. If no change was needed, the stamp still moves — because the page was genuinely checked.
Out-of-Cycle Updates
Outside the monthly cycle, pages are updated immediately when:
- A new item or limited-time offer is officially announced
- An item is discontinued or renamed
- A reader reports a discrepancy that we verify
- We discover an error ourselves
Fact-Checking Before Publication
Before a page goes live, we check that every factual claim traces back to a source we can point to, that item names and spellings match official usage, that prices carry the reference-price qualification, that nutrition figures carry the variability note, and that internal links work and point to current pages.
Corrections
We correct errors. Openly and quickly.
How to Report an Error
If you find something wrong on this Site, email support@tecobell.com with the page and what you believe is incorrect. If you can say which city or state you saw a different price in, that helps us verify much faster.
What Happens Next
When a correction is reported, we verify it against a current public source, update the page, and move the update stamp. Where a correction is significant — a wrong nutrition figure, a materially wrong price, or a factual mistake in a guide — we note the change on the page rather than quietly editing it. Reader corrections are one of the most valuable inputs we have, and we do not treat them as a nuisance.
Who Writes Our Content
Content on TecoBell.com is researched and written by a small independent editorial team of human writers with experience in consumer food and restaurant information. Our writers are ordinary customers, not restaurant employees or industry representatives.
Use of AI Tools
We do not publish unedited AI-generated content. Where digital tools are used to assist with research, drafting or formatting, the output is reviewed, verified and edited by a human who takes responsibility for what is published.
Advertising and Editorial Independence
This Site is funded by advertising, including advertising served through Google AdSense and other networks. That funding pays for hosting and for the time it takes to maintain hundreds of pages.
Advertising has no influence on editorial content. Specifically:
- We do not accept payment to change, remove or soften a price listing or factual statement
- We do not accept payment for favourable coverage
- Advertisers have no input into, or advance sight of, our content
- Ads are placed in defined ad slots and are visually distinguishable from editorial content
- We do not disguise advertising as editorial writing
Where a page contains an affiliate link or sponsored element, it is disclosed on that page.
Guest Contributions
We occasionally accept contributions through our Write For Us page. All submissions are subject to the same sourcing and fact-checking standards as our own content, are edited before publication, and must not be promotional. We do not publish paid link placements disguised as editorial articles.
Our Independence from Taco Bell
TecoBell.com is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Taco Bell Corp., Yum! Brands, Inc. or any franchisee. No restaurant company reviews, approves or funds our content. We report menu information the way we find it, including when items get smaller, prices rise, or products are quietly discontinued.
